Cranston students excel at collegiate level

Many Cranston residents have once again made the grade at their respective colleges and the Cranston Herald would like to congratulate each of them who have made such significant achievement.

Congratulations to those who received high honors at the University of New Hampshire: Susan Torman, Amanda Vispo, Audrey Mansolillo, Holly Eliades and Cassandra Izzo. Earning honors at the university was Meghan Lavey of Cranston.

At Fairfield University, Mitchell Bell and Katherine Reilly were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester.

Making the grade at Tufts University in Massachusetts was Jessica Rubine of Cranston, a member of the class of 2013.

Gelissa Salazar, daughter of Marisleyda Salazar of Cranston, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester at Saint Michael's College. Salazar is a senior elementary education and history major at the liberal arts, residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vt.

The following Cranston residents were named to the dean's list during the fall 2012 semester at Salve Regina University: John King, a sophomore majoring in secondary education and history; Brittany Lyons, a sophomore majoring in special education; Leeanne Soprano, a senior majoring in Spanish and Tyler Sienkiewicz, a senior majoring in administration of justice.

At Roger Williams University, the following Cranston residents are among those to be named to the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester: architecture major Brianna Moretti and marketing major Jason Rosa.

Congratulations to Allison Krollman of Cranston who has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester at Marquette University in Wisconsin. Krollman is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in operations and supply chain management.

Several Cranston residents were among 1,337 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) named to the university's dean's list for academic excellence for the fall 2012 semester. Congratulations to Richard Dennen, a senior majoring in electrical and computer engineering; Andrew Haveles, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering; Joshua Nottage, a sophomore majoring in actuarial mathematics; Edward Caputo, a freshman majoring in science; Jillian Proulx, a freshman majoring in architectural engineering; Samantha Ricci, a freshman majoring in chemical engineering; and Matthew Sabetta, a freshman majoring in engineering.

At the University of Hartford, Cranston residents Richardson Jean-Baptiste, Corey Martin, Gabriel D'Antonio, Tyler Corsi and Benjamin Wilcox made the fall dean’s list.

Stonehill College in Massachusetts has also released the names of Cranston residents who were named to the dean’s list for the fall academic semester. Congratulations to Anthony J. Borzaro, Cristina Carpentier, Rebecca S. Dinerman, Alexander C. Dubois, Lauren K. Dulieu, Thomas J. Gumbley, Lauren E. Moore, Molly E. Neubauer, Kayla M. Pirria and Brandon P. Ruggieri.
