Cranston/Warwick restaurants make Best of R.I. list
Don Fowler

We’ve always known that Cranston and Warwick have some of the best restaurants in Rhode Island.

Last week’s “Best of Rhode Island” celebration at PPAC, sponsored by Rhode Island Magazine, honored many of Rhode Island’s Best, as voted on by their readers.

Best Brunch (and we can attest to that, having enjoyed it on Mother’s Day) was Warwick’s 1149 Restaurant.

Best Wine List went to one of Cranston’s newest establishments, Chapel Grill.

“Cheap Eats” went to Oakland Beach’s claim to fame, Iggy’s. They also won Best Clam Shack.

Best Dessert (And who hasn’t salivated just at the thought of Death By Chocolate?) went to Warwick’s Gregg’s.

Regional Awards were given to Cranston’s T’s for Best Breakfast and Chapel Grill for Best Lunch.

Best Coffee went to Cranston’s Brewed Awakenings, while Cranston’s Sundaes was voted Best Ice Cream.

Readers voted Warwick’s Fat Belly’s as having the Best Burger and Mousie’s as Best Deli.

Warwick’s Sweet Indulgence was voted Best Bakery.

Twin Oaks led the Hall of Fame list for most wins in a variety of categories.

While we concur with most of the selections, we have a few of our own to add:

Best Asian: Warwick’s Lemongrass.

Best Neighborhood Breakfast/

Lunch: Cranston’s Spoonems.

Best Stickybuns: Pawtuxet Village’s Little Falls.

Best Home Cooked Meals: Warwick’s Governor Francis.

Let us know any that you would add to the list.
