Hoxsie helps

The Hoxsie School community contributed food and clothing for the victims of Hurricane Sanday, along with $430. The donations were dropped off Friday at Cardi's Furniture where they were driven to New York and New Jersey, courtesy of Arpin Van Lines. Pictured from left with Hoxsie School Principal Gary McCoombs are: Zachary Kretchman (1st grader); Jake Castaldi (6th grader); Hannah Savitsky (6th grader); and Madison Valliere (1st grader). The initiative was organized in only two days by Susan Houle, a sixth grade teacher who had heard the Cardi brothers interviewed on the radio and then asked her school to help. McCoombs placed an automated call to all parents, resulting in hundreds of canned goods, clothes, other needed goods and donations. (Submitted photo)
