A happening place
MARKET TREAT: Cheryle Cunha, a former chemistry teacher who became concerned by all the additives in dog foods, founded Bona-Fido of Scituate, producing all natural, chemical-free treats for dogs and horses. She sells a variety of meat jerky along with vegetable and fruit treats. Cunha is a regular at the Goddard market and has come to know many of her customers including Ragnor, a skittish young boxer and his owner, Melissa Pearson, seen here.
GET THERE EARLY: Max Brouillard, who manned the Wild Harvest Bakery Café stand with his father, Vincent, suggested shoppers get to the market early if they hope to get the best selection. Hot pizza, calzones and long loaves of bread are among the first baked goods to be sold out first.
SINATRA FAVORITES: Potowomut resident Rich Arrighi played his harmonica and guitar, providing market strollers and those lounging on the lawn with contemporary tunes and old-time favorites.

FRIENDLY KISS: You never know what company you’ll find at the Goddard Park Friday farmers market. The market is a gathering place for friends and, of course, local farmers who offer fresh produce. Expand on that thought of a farmers market as a place to buy fresh local produce with some music, items you wouldn’t imagine came from a farm and lots of friendly people and dogs and you’ve the Friday farmers market at Goddard Park. Indeed, there are regulars at the market who know exactly what they want and are in and out and on their way. But the market is also a place to meet friends, spread a blanket in the shade and let the kids have fun.
