A Thanksgiving gift
Schools were closed on Thanksgiving Day, but not Hendricken. As was initiated by Peter Thomas, who works in the school’s development office, the school community was joined by sponsors to host a Thanksgiving luncheon to those who might otherwise spend the day alone and, quite possibly, without a meal. In addition to a turkey dinner with the trimmings, visitors had the opportunity to take their pick of gloves, scarves and hats provided by Job Lot. In keeping with the season, the event was festive. School President John Jackson and Mayor Scott Avedisian greeted the visitors, and then it was time to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner.
