A veteran's account

Frank Fielding, a World War II veteran who was recalled for the Korean Conflict, spoke to kindergarten and first grade students at St. Kevin School on Nov. 10 about his service, his duties in the Navy, and how he advanced in rank. Fielding was drafted into the Navy when he was 18 and spent nearly three years on his ship. He served on a destroyer escort in the Pacific theater during the war. Fielding has also volunteered in the school lunchroom for a number of years. (Submitted photo)
