Barrington student enrollment is below projection

As of July 28, Barrington public school enrollment was nearly 60 students below the projection — 58 to be exact.

However, Barrington Schools Director of Finance and Administrator Ron Tarro said enrollment figures were changing every day. 

"They're constantly coming in," said Mr. Tarro, referring to parents registering new students.

The figures provided to the school committee in late July showed lower than expected enrollment at nearly all of Barrington's schools. Only Sowams School's actual enrollment met the projection.

Sowams School — Projected: 241; Actual: 241

Nayatt School — Projected: 342; Actual: 337

Primrose Hill — Projected: 313; Actual: 301

Hampden Meadows — Projected: 512; Actual: 509

Barrington Middle School — Projected: 791; Actual: 763

Barrington High School — Projected: 1,138; Actual: 1,128

Total enrollment — Projected: 3,337; Actual: 3,279
