The Barrington High School soccer teams are paying tribute to the late Maddie Potts — a senior at Chariho High School who died during a game earlier this month.

Members of the Barrington boys' team wore blue tape around their wrists to honor Potts, who collapsed during a game on Saturday, Sept. 23. Officials said she died of a brain aneurysm. Barrington's opponent, LaSalle, also wore blue tape — blue was Maddie's favorite color. Both teams also observed a moment of silence before the start of the game on Tuesday night.

The Barrington girls' team is also honoring Potts — a blue "11" with the initials "MP" was painted onto the varsity soccer field at Barrington High School. Potts wore number 11 on her Chariho soccer jersey.

The Barrington girls' team was scheduled to play at home against Exeter-West Greenwich on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
