Barrington voters were lined up at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, waiting patiently to cast their ballots.

According to poll workers at Hampden Meadows School, a number of voters turned out early on election day. The line, at times, grew more than 30 people deep, but moved quickly. Residents are also reporting very long lines at Sowams School on Tuesday morning.

Voters faced a number of races and a series of referendum questions, including whether to approve spending up to $68.4 million to construct a new middle school in town.

Outside the polls, volunteers and candidates held signs and waved to passers-by.

The polls will stay open until 8 p.m., and results should be available shortly thereafter.
