Briarcliffe Manor earns top ratings from government

Johnston Sun Rise ·

Johnston-based Briarcliffe Manor is in a very select group of highly-skilled nursing homes nationally.

“We just received word that the federal government has released updated nursing home ratings, and once again, Briarcliffe Manor has landed at the top of the list here in Rhode Island,” said Stefany Reed, a top-ranking executive and marketing director at the three-building complex located off Old Pocasset Road. “We are obviously thrilled with the ratings.”

Akshay Talwar, owner and CEO of the Briarcliffe properties, said: “I am very proud of the Briarcliffe team and the results we are able to achieve with our patients. We are extremely committed to personalized, quality care, and that commitment is evidenced through these very high ratings.”

Talwar noted that Briarcliffe Manor received an overall five-star rating, and also received five of five stars in all categories, including each of the important four subcategories – health inspection, quality measures, staffing, and registered nurse staffing.

“This is not something that’s easy to achieve,” Talwar said. “Our people here are top notch. This coveted rating places Briarcliffe in a very select group of highly-ranked nursing homes in the country, as well as here in Rhode Island.”

Briarcliffe Manor is a combination nursing home and rehabilitation center, while Briarcliffe Gardens offers memory care and assisted living in two state-of-the-art facilities completed two years ago.

Reed added: “In addition to Briarcliffe’s five-star ratings, our rehabilitation clients have lengths of stay lower than national and regional averages. In addition, our patients enjoy lower re-hospitalization rates because their integrated therapy and nursing teams are able to achieve superior outcomes for rehabilitation patients.”

Caregiverlist.com, which recently released a comprehensive list of nursing home ratings nationally, announced that Briarcliffe Manor – which is privately owned and operated – scored 4.6 out of five stars.
