Bristol Police: Arrests for domestic assault, DUI, cyberstalking

From Dec. 4 to Dec. 10, Bristol police officers responded to dozens of calls and made nine arrests. Below is a roundup of activity for that week.

Monday, Dec. 4

  • A neighbor reported a verbal argument between a man and woman on Bourne Street, and after officers responded at 9:11 a.m., they arrested Kyle A. Gordon, 25, of 29 Bourne St. and charged him with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.
  • A caller from Broadcommon Road reported their mail stolen.
  • A caller from Sowams Road reported two pitbulls loose in the area at around 12:02 p.m.
  • Austin A. Gaudet, 20, of 93 Franklin St., Apt. 2E, Bristol, was arrested on a warrant and charged with passing counterfeit bills, obtaining money under false pretenses, and being a fugitive from justice.
  • A caller from Charles Street complained of a barking dog at 11:23 a.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 5

  • Someone from Richmond Street reported a sign stolen at 8:12 a.m.
  • Two Canada Geese were reported dead near the Colt State Park entrance along Poppasquash Road at 8:17 a.m.
  • Someone called to report a syringe found in the parking lot of Gooding Plaza at 11:30 a.m.
  • A caller from Holly Lane reported an argument between a mother and son at 4:27 p.m.
  • At 8:40 p.m., an anonymous caller phoned the police station to report that a woman wanted by police was walking in the Wood Street area. Minutes later, officers arrested Michelle A. Dunlop, 50, of 39 Bourne St., Apt. 1, Bristol, and charged her with two counts of receiving stolen goods, a Superior Court warrant for restitution, and a Superior Court warrant for breaking-and-entering.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 6
  • A caller from Kingswood Road filed a report claiming a tree company damaged their residence when removing a tree a day earlier.

Thursday, Dec. 7

  • A Sandy Lane resident called police at 8:23 a.m., then a Fatima Drive resident called at 9:06 a.m., both to report an injured coyote. The animal control officer believes the animal was injured a while ago on its rear leg.
  • At 6:24 p.m., a Magnolia Street resident complained of harassment.
  • At 7:23 p.m., a Franklin Street resident complained of harassment.
  • An officer visited with a group of juveniles at the corner of Fatima Drive and San Antonio Avenue at 9:08 p.m. but there were no problems.

Friday, Dec. 8

  • An officer dispersed a car and its occupants from Narrows Point on Narrows Road at 2:18 a.m.
  • A 16-year-old was arrested for disorderly conduct at 11:24 a.m. at Mt. Hope High School.
  • A caller from Leila Jean Drive called about stolen lawn reflectors at 1:41 p.m.
  • Jason L. Santos, 34, of 34 Franca Drive, Bristol, was charged with violation of a protective order.
  • Nicholas Terifay Krajewski, 19, of Ansonia, Conn., was charged with underage possession of alcohol after officers responded to Mt. Hope Liquors at 5:47 p.m.
  • A caller from Sousa Street reported a loud vehicle at 9:29 p.m. A responding officer found no problem.

Saturday, Dec. 9

  • A caller reported loud people and loud music on Charles Street at 12:10 p.m.
  • A caller reported loud music and loud people on River Street at 12:45 p.m.
  • An officer stopped a juvenile who was near the power station on Gooding Avenue at 1:17 a.m. and transported him to his mother.
  • A caller from Dreadnaught Avenue reported damage to a mailbox at 2:13 a.m.
  • After being detained by Tiverton Police and brought to Bristol, Lawrence Sylvia, 47, of 46 Kaufman Road, Tiverton, was charged with domestic cyberstalking and cyber-harassment at 2:33 a.m.
  • Officers were called to a family disturbance at 7:41 p.m. on Catherine Street. There were no arrests.
  • A caller reported juveniles throwing snowballs at passing vehicles at 8:07 p.m. on Verdi Lane.
  • A caller from Wood Street complained of noise at 10:24 p.m.
  • A caller from High Street complained of noise at 11:05 p.m.
  • Someone reported an intoxicated man in front of a Wood Street home at 11:47 p.m. He reportedly had red hair and a green sweater.

Sunday, Dec. 10

  • Sean J. May, 39, of 31 Constitution St., Apt. 2W, Bristol, was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test after an accident along Hope Street at 12:02 a.m. (see separate story).
  • A caller from High Street complained of loud people and loud music at 12:54 a.m.
  • A Bradford Street caller reported loud people and music at 1:51 a.m.
  • A caller from Addy Drive reported damage to a vehicle at 1:23 p.m.
  • After an officer was called to investigate a pedestrian on the Mt. Hope Bridge at 2:09 p.m., James Heflin, 56, of 59 Court St., Apt. 2, Bristol, was charged with a Superior Court warrant.
