Coyne holds lead over Kazounis in Senate race
Sowams School votes yet to be counted
Barrington Democrat Cindy Coyne held a 6,174 to 5,316 lead over Republican Jimmy Kazounis in the race for the RI Senate District 32 seat.
The race had not yet been called because more than 1,000 votes have not yet been counted. An error with the voting machine at Sowams School on Tuesday night was still being felt on Wednesday morning, as no official vote tallies had been posted to the board of elections website.
Ms. Coyne is the incumbent candidate, while Mr. Kazounis is the challenger.
As of 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, officials at the Barrington Town Clerk's office said they were hopeful the results would be posted online by late morning.
