Domenic M. Cortellessa, Bristol

Mr. Domenic M. Cortellessa, of Roma Street, Bristol, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, in Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lou Ann (Caromile) Cortellessa, his wife of 28 years.   

Born and raised in Barrington, he was a son of the late Vincenzo and Justine (Rossi) Cortellessa. Domenic served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in the maintenance department of the RI Veterans Home in Bristol for more than 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and a member of the Cup Defenders Association, both in Bristol.  

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert M. Cortellessa (Lisa); and two grandchildren, Presley M. and Vincent M. Cortellessa, all of Portage, MI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Andreozzi, Helen Panzarella, Carmella Lopez, Antonetta Bianchi and Anna Teolis, and two brothers, Joseph and James Cortellessa.  

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Tuesdasy, Nov. 22, at 9 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Monday, Nov. 21, 4-8 p.m.
