Edward R. Marshall, 80, formerly of Bristol

Edward R. Marshall, 80, the husband of Elma (Villanueva) Marshall, died on Thursday, Aug. 10, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Bristol, the son of the late Edward and Josephine (White) Marshall.

Prior to retiring, Ed was employed at Pratt & Whitney and had also retired from the Connecticut National Guard. An avid sportsman, he was a member of the Andover Sportsman Club and the Rockville Fish and Game Club.

Besides his wife, Elma, he is survived by his sons David Marshall of East Hartford, James Marshall and his wife Kristen of West Hartford, and Edward Marshall II of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; and his grandchildren, Hannah and Ethan. Ed is also survived by his brothers and their spouses, Robert and Jean Marshall and Richard and Linda Marshall of Bristol; Ronald and Donna Marshall of Warren; and John and Rosemary Marshall of Seekonk, Mass. He was predeceased by his sister, Catherine Andrews.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, Conn.
