“It’s not going too bad,” said Jamie Samons, public affairs manager with the Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC), of the current work being done on the Greenville Avenue sewer and water line extension project. Work continues around Salina Avenue, with approximately 9,000 feet of water pipe, 1,600 feet of sewer pipe, 18 new hydrants and seven manholes have been installed throughout the project area so far. Pressure testing and flushing of the lines has been completed, and work to connect residences to services will soon begin. While Samons stated that residents have been “understandably upset” about traffic delays, they are being worked through. Recent heavy rains have caused the two work crews to stop work early, but the project is on schedule. Daily updates on the project may be found on NBC’s Facebook page. Above is an aerial photograph of the Citizens Bank Campus construction, taken by publisher John Howell, which outlines the positions of different structures. Work on the campus also proceeds on schedule.
