Frederick G. Masteka, 70, of Warren, passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at Miriam Hospital, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Phyllis Manchester–Masteka for over 47 years.

Fred was born in Providence, son of the late George F. Masteka and Maureen D. Hawes. A graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School, Rhode Island College, and Boston College. Fred was a social worker for the State of RI, a clinician at East Bay Mental Health Center, and retired as a school social worker from the Bristol/Warren School District.

He is also survived by his son, Mason and wife, Meredith, of Portland, ME, and his daughter, Abigail Williams, and husband, Marshall, of Warren. He was the loving “Baba” to Margaret and Bridget Williams and Wyatt and Brooks Masteka. He is also survived by his sister, Victoria Hawes, and niece, Phebe.

Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
