He’s got the key now

Warwick School Superintendent Philip Thornton turned over the keys to the former school administration building and former Hoxsie School built in 1926 to Mayor Scott Avedisian yesterday afternoon. School administration offices have been relocated to the former Gorton Junior High School. The mayor said he hopes to advertise the Warwick Avenue buildings and two acres as soon as possible. He thinks there will be interest in the property as it is located on Warwick Avenue and on a bus route. On a walkthrough of the property, the mayor learned that a Warwick Sewer Authority transmitting facility needs to be relocated and came across a pair of safes that the School Department isn’t keeping.
