Holly Fair back for 5th year at Johnston High

Johnston Sun Rise ·

If you’re a vendor looking to sell your holiday wares, the Johnston High School Parent-Teacher-Student Organization is accepting applications for its fifth annual Holly Fair.

If you’re in dong some early Christmas shopping and looking for unique items and decorations, the PTSO’s Holly Fair will be the place to be on Saturday, Nov. 19.

“We’re bringing this event back by popular demand,” said Melissa Patrone, who is co-chairing the 2016 Holly Fair with Lori Agnew. “We want people to know we are returning to the Johnston High cafeteria and will have plenty of space for any and all ‘old’ vendors, and we’re hoping to have a lot of new faces as well.”

Patrone said interest has been running high during the planning stages, and “our Johnston High School students are really, really excited about being part of this year’s Holly Fair.”

She said the hard-working non-profit welcomes “new vendors” and businesses with local products to sign up for booth space and help make this the biggest and best Holly Fair in Johnston High history.

Patrone also announced that “there will be a very special visit from our favorite friend from the North Pole and that Santa Claus will be bringing some of his friend’s along this year.”

“We’re asking people to spread the word to their family and friends about this year’s Holly Fair,” Patrone said. “Many people told us last year that this will be a great place to start holiday shopping, especially if you’re trying to find the perfect gift for a teacher, co-worker, mailman, or just something special for yourself.”

The 2016 Holly Fair will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and vendors are asked to make a $30 donation to the PTSO. All vendors are responsible for supplying their own tables, chairs, signage, and booth equipment. Setup time will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 19.

Patrone said the PTSO is also asking vendors to donate one item upon arrival and that will be used at the non-profit’s always-popular raffle table.

If you’re planning to attend this year’s Holly Fair should enter at the cafeteria entrance located hind Johnston High School. Anyone who’d like further information about the Holy Fair or a vendor application should call Patrone at 401-575-1097 or Agnew at 401-965-3362.
