Joseph “Joe” Motta

Joseph “Joe” Motta, age 94, of Warwick, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline (Park) Motta.

Born in East Providence, a son of the late Alvaro and Marion (Perry) Motta, he lived in Warwick since 1955. Mr. Motta was a truck driver for 45 years, and a member of Teamsters Local # 251. He drove for Hemingway Transport and several other companies.

He is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline M. Antonelli and her husband Robert Antonelli, of Warwick, and Kathleen Hill of Canaan, NH; a brother, Alvaro Motta of Michigan; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Pacheco, Melinda Paiva and her husband Julio, Alan Hill and his wife Samantha, and Camee Hill; two great-grandchildren, Hanah Hill and Jaidyn Hill; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Eleanor Carreira, Dorothy Lima, and George Motta.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, September 16, in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, Warwick. Burial was private. www.barrettandcotter.com
