Junior Honor Society off to a strong start at Park View

A SUCCESSFUL DRIVE: The students who are part of the Park View Middle School National Junior Honor Society ran a successful drive that brought in more than 100 items of warm weather gear for those in need.

The National Junior Honor Society at Park View Middle School recently collected over 100 hats, gloves, scarves and mittens for the Cranston Community Action Program (CCAP).

The students presented their haul to CCAP’s Vice President of Social Services, Joanne Gregory, last week. Gregory told the students that their collection was very timely, as many people who utilize the services at CCAP come in with a need for such warm weather gear.

The NJHS first fundraiser in Talbot’s in November was also very successful, and the rest of the school year’s activities are already in the works.

“After February vacation we will be having new students applying to the program and in March we will be doing our Birthday Bags project for CCAP again,” said one of the faculty advisors, Ann Marie Torres. “In April we will have our luau and our induction ceremony will also take place in April.”
