Kaye Raymond of 11 Little Pond Cove Road, Little Compton, passed peacefully in her sleep while rehabbing from hip surgery in Scituate, Massachusetts.

Kaye was born in Fall River and spent her early years there and later in Tiverton. She graduated from Durfee High School and Pembroke College, now Brown University.

She married Tom Perry Raymond in 1950 and the couple moved to Boston, Andover, and Hingham, Mass., eventually retiring to their treasured Little Compton. She raised three sons who were her pride and joy.

Kaye possessed a sharp wit, a keen sense of humor, and an unfailing ability to put people at ease in social situations. Kaye’s input was always valued by her many treasured friends: she was everyone’s confidante.

Kaye belonged to the Little Compton Congregational Church, donated her time to the Thursday Thrift Shop, enjoyed playing golf in her earlier years with her late husband Tom at the Sakonnet Golf Club, and looked forward to volunteering weekly at Wishing Stone Farm, Little Compton’s first CSA farmer’s market, owned and operated by old friends Liz and Skip Peckham-Paul. She and her husband Tom enjoyed many trips to England, Ireland, and Scotland, where they formed lifelong friendships with Tom’s clients in the wool business.

Kaye was predeceased by her son Tom P. Raymond Jr. and her husband of 52 years, Tom P. Raymond. She leaves behind son Charles F. Raymond and wife Betsy of Bethel, Maine; son Robert M. Raymond and wife Deborah of Scituate, Mass., daughter-in law Molly K. Raymond of Chapel Hill, N.C., and six grandchildren; Caroline Raymond Geehan, Andrew Raymond, Megan Raymond, Devin Raymond, Chaz Raymond, and Will Raymond.

A private burial and gathering to pay tribute to Kaye will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Stay at Home in Little Compton, Inc., P.O. Box 353, Little Compton, RI 02837, an organization of true angels guided by Denise Wilkie and Margaret Tirpaeck and co-founded by Kaye’s dear friend Jinny Hastings, that helped Kaye enjoy her last years on Little Pond Cove.
