Lucio “Lou” T. Montella, Jr., (Warwick Police Department, Ret.), 85, passed away December 14, 2016 at North Brook Rehabilitation Facility, Brookville, Florida with his beloved wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of Velma L. (Wall) Montella.

Born in Providence, October 16, 1931, he was a son of the late Lucio T. and Rose (Matarese) Montella, Sr. Lou was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and served on the Warwick Police Department for 20 years from 1962 – 1982 before retiring. He was a member of the FOP Lodge #7 in Warwick, a member of the Arapeka Elks in Florida, was Team Captain of the Massasoit Gun Club. He was also an investigator for the State of Rhode Island. He later owned with his wife Velma, Montella’s Registry Service for 12 years.

Loving father of Charles T. Montella and his wife Tammy; loving grandfather of Jeffrey, Betty Ann, and Jennifer; loving great-grandfather of Phoenix and Brody; dear friend of Katherine A. Felmly; brother of the late Alvin R. Montella and Sandra Medeiros.
