Men charged after allegedly urinating on floor of Portsmouth store

PORTSMOUTH — Here are the highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past week.

Monday, Oct. 31

A 12-year-old Fall River girl was charged around 10 a.m. with disorderly conduct (directing offense words at another) after police received a report that a student at the Bradley School had threatened another pupil. The matter was referred to Family Court.

Tuesday, Nov. 1

A vehicle driven by Jordan Furtado of Warren struck a deer that had run onto Bramans Lane at East Main Road shortly before 2 a.m. The collision caused moderate damage to the front right fender of the vehicle but the driver and another occupant were not injured. The deer ran off.

Wednesday, Nov. 2

A vehicle driven by Richard Pope of Newport struck a deer that had darted out onto West Main Road at Raytheon around 1:40 a.m. The vehicle’s driver’s side headlight was broken but the driver was not injured. Police could not find the deer.

Adrienne E. Givens, 38, of 65 Dawn Marie Drive, was charged at 8:18 p.m. with disorderly conduct (directing offensive words at another) and resisting arrest. Police said the charge stems from an ongoing dispute between neighbors at the duplex. A neighbor told police that Ms. Givens bangs on the walls several times during the day and night and also screams threats.

Thursday, Nov. 3

A 13-year-old Fall River girl was charged at 1:48 p.m. with vandalism with malicious injury to property and simple assault following a report that a student had broken a window and assaulted a teacher at the Bradley School. The matter was referred to Family Court.

Reginald T. Narciso, 74, of 101 Berkley Ave., was charged at 8:23 p.m. with violating a no-contact order. Police said Mr. Narciso approached and began speaking with a woman in the parking lot of Clements’ Marketplace, despite an active no-contact order between the two.

Friday, Nov. 4

Police investigated a complaint that someone had slept on a yacht at Hinckley Boat Yard. The captain of a sailing vessel told police a trespasser apparently was on the boat sometime between Oct. 31 and the morning of Nov. 4. He found two pillows on the floor, a bottle of tequila, the boat’s telephone off the hook and one of the toilets used but not flushed, according to police. Nothing appeared to have been taken, he told police.

A driver of a 2013 Toyota Corolla told police her car was struck by debris at about noontime while she was driving through a work zone on the Mt. Hope Bridge. She said the damage — a crack to her windshield — was caused by a jack hammer.

A vehicle driven by Edward Cameron of Portsmouth struck a deer that had run onto West Main Road at Raytheon around 7:30 p.m. The car sustained minor damage but no one was hurt.

A vehicle driven by Colleen Lecomte of Portsmouth struck a deer that had run out onto East Main Road at Sylvania Lane around 10:40 a.m. Ms. Lecomte said she sideswiped the deer, which appeared to have run off following the collision. The car sustained minor damage and no one was hurt. It was the seventh vehicle accident involving a deer since Oct. 28, according to police. 

Saturday, Nov. 5

Rachel M. Thaw, 27, of 19 Wesley St., Newport, was charged with illegally dumping trash, in violating of a town ordinance, at the transfer station on Hedly Street. Police said they found two pieces of mail with Ms. Thaw’s name on it mixed in with some dry wall that had been left in the dumpster in the lower lot closest to West Main Road. Ms. Thaw did not have a Portsmouth transfer station sticker and was not a resident of the town, police said. Police contacted Ms. Thaw and issued her a summons to appear in Municipal Court to answer the charge.

Two 18-year-old Middletown men were arrested after they allegedly urinated on the floor of the Mobil Xtra Mart on Oct. 14. It was all caught on surveillance video, police said. Three young men entered the store around 12:30 a.m. and shortly afterwards, two of them began urinating on the floor in the back corner of the store before exiting the building and returning to their vehicle, police said. Police identified the suspects as Gavin Arthur-Lindsay Lord, 18, of 278 Boulevard Ave., Middletown, and Jayvon J. Davis, 18, of 249 Rogers Lane, Middletown. Mr. Lord turned himself in on Nov. 5 and was charged with vandalism with malicious injury to property and disorderly conduct (fighting/tumultuous behavior). Mr. Davis was picked up by Middletown Police on Nov. 5 and Portsmouth took custody of him. He was also charged with vandalism, as well as disorderly conduct (exposing his genitals).

Sunday, Nov. 6

Amy E. Richard, 39, of 30 Catherine St., Apt 1B, Bristol, was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a chemical test shortly before 1 a.m. Police said they stopped her car on West Main Road near Connors Funeral Home because it had left the lane of travel.
