Passed four days after his beloved wife of 61 years

Michael J. Rubino, 87, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at home. He was the husband for over 61 years of the late Rose M. ( Ranieri) Rubino, who died four days prior.

Michael was the son of the late Ciro and Concetta ( Cirillo) Rubino. He was predeceased by two younger sisters, Rosemarie ( Rubino) Leary and Angelina Rubino. He was born and raised in Bristol, lived in Warren most of his life, and in West Palm Beach, Fla. from 2002 until moving to Bristol in 2015.

Michael known as “Papa” to his family, and graduated from Colt memorial high School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Japan. He was a foreman at the Fulflex Corporation and was a former member of the Warren Mechanics Fire Department. A member of the Italian-American Club, the Elks Club and the Cup Defenders Association, he was an avid reader and golfer who had two holes-in-one to his credit. He also enjoyed oil and acrylic painting and his exceptional artwork was displayed in an art show in Florida.

“Papa” was loved dearly by his family, and he will be sorely missed. He leaves four children, Michael (Karen) Rubino of Warren, Karen (Dave) Bidwell of Connecticut, Gerald (Dawn) Rubino of Barrington and and Paul (Kathy) Rubino of Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren, Alicia (Josh) Securo, Michael (Sheryl) Rubino, Davio Rubino, Kathryn and Emily Bidwell, Vanessa (Jarred) Marszalek, Jill (Gino) LaFazia, Nicholas Rubino, Joseph (Kristin) Rubino and Peter Rubino; and five great-grandchildren, Owen and Abigail Securo, Adam and Ryan Marszalek and Michael James Rubino.

The family takes comfort in knowing that he has joined his beloved wife Rose in heaven.
