Mt. Hope announces Top 10 students

The high school will graduate 223 students at Roger Williams University Saturday

Mt. Hope High School has announced its Top 10 students for the 2015-2016 school year. The students will receive their diplomas in the Roger Williams University field house Saturday at noon.

The Top 10 students include:

1. Sabrina DaSilva, of Warren, daughter of Steven DaSilva and Sonya Paiva, Ms. Dasilva plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in biochemistry. At Mt. Hope, she was class president, a multi-sport athlete, and took part in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

2. Renee Tremblay, of Bristol, daughter of Michael and Theresa Tremblay, plans to attend the Webb Institute, majoring in Naval architecture and marine engineering. At Mt. Hope, she was the Robotics Team captain, served on student government, played tennis and ran track.

3. Tess Alexandre, of Bristol, daughter of Thomas and Mary Alexandre, plans to attend Roger Williams University to major in elementary education. At Mt. Hope, she was class secretary, served on the Student Council, played tennis and softball, and ran track.

4. Lauren Boisvert, of Bristol, daughter of James Boisvert and Elizabeth Westerholm, plans to attend the University of Rhode Island, majoring in nutrition. At Mt. Hope, she served on the Executive Board and took part in Freshman Mentoring.

5. Jennifer Tappero, of Warren, daughter of Robert and Katherine Tappero, plans to attend Simmons College to major in arts administration. At Mt. Hope, she served as the Arts Club President and was a member of the National Arts Honor Society.

6. Kayla Placid, of Bristol, daughter of Arthur and Kristen Placid, plans to attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University to major in aerospace engineering and aviation. At Mt. Hope, she played on the Guitar Ensemble, played softball and served on the Executive Board, in addition to taking flight lessons off campus.

7. Jason Costa, of Bristol, son of Deodato and Teresa Costa, plans to attend Hofstra University, majoring in accounting. At Mt. Hope, he served on the Executive Board and competed with the Math Team.

8. Aurora Faria, of Bristol, daughter of Jeff and Brigette Faria, plans to attend the University of Rhode Island, majoring in computer science. At Mt. Hope, she served as vice president of the Student Council and on the Executive Board, and delivered the news on the HNN news broadcast.

9. Christian DeLuca, of Bristol, son of Anthony and Nicolette DeLuca, plans to attend the University of Vermont. At Mt. Hope, he served on the Executive Board, competed with the Math team and was named to the National Arts Honor Society.

10. Alyssa Mallon, of Bristol, daughter of Paul Rebello and Bridget Mallon, plans to attend Salve Regina University to major in English communication. At Mt. Hope, she performed with the Vocal Ensemble and served as president of the Chorus.

* In addition to their listed activities, all the above students were also inducted into the National Honor Society and Rhode Island Honor Society.
