The former owner of the Tuscan Tavern at 632 Metacom Ave. plans to open up a new restaurant on the site, following the closure of McBlarney’s County Tap and the Pink Pig last month.

Oganes Tagessian, who owns the property with his wife, was approved for a new full liquor license before the Warren Town Council Tuesday night. He decided to open a new restaurant after McBlarneys’ owners broke a 10-year lease they had signed for the property in 2012.

Neither Mr. Tagessian nor his attorney, Robert Ameen, could be reached for comment this week. However, Mr. Ameen noted in paperwork filed with the town that Mr. Tagessian hopes to start work on the new restaurant as soon as possible.
