Not a happy tune

Jody Ryan, who handles accounting at the Rhode Island Mentor, carefully parked her Mercedes at the back end of the Mentor parking lot alongside Music Lane Monday morning, away from other cars and presumably safe from being scratched. That was until a grader working on the Apponaug circulator project took a turn down the short street. Ryan said the driver told her the brakes failed, sending the massive apparatus through a chain-link fence to hit her car head on and pushing it back into the adjoining building. If there is a silver lining to the story, it’s that there were no injuries and the grader came to a halt before taking out the building. (Warwick Beacon photo)
