Oaklawn Library hosts first gingerbread house warming

The Cranston Herald ·

There were only 16 available spaces that filled up quickly and there was even an extensive waiting list for any possible cancellations reports branch librarian, Stefanie Blankenship.

That was the story Dec. 16 as the Oaklawn Library held its first gingerbread house-decorating event. It promises not to be the last.

Working together as families, and with help from the volunteers, families constructed gingerbread houses, apartments, buildings and whatever else the kids could dream up.

"I would like to make it an annual event and a bigger event once we have a program room in the basement. Maybe, even a contest," said Blankenship.
