Paired with four-legged friends

The mood was upbeat and remarkably free of barking, seeing that there were so many dogs, at Sunday’s Always Adopt event held at Balise Toyota in Warwick. Pre-approved adopters got the first pick of the pups, which was followed by a public opening in late morning. Founded by Louise Anderson, Always Adopt works to host a super adoption day at least twice a year where adoption groups can bring dogs and match them with adopters. The effort has been hugely successful in that it brings so many dogs and people together. On Sunday a total of 412 dogs found homes. Anderson said 2,500 people attended the event staffed by 250 volunteers. The next adoption day is set for November 4 at Clark Farms in Matunuck. (Warwick Beacon photos)
