ARMED ROBBERY
On June 7 at 12:31am, the Warwick Police Department responded to the Cumberland Farms Store located at 1291 Warwick Avenue for a report of a male subject who had entered the store, displayed a silver handgun, and demanded money. He was described as a white male, approx. 5’10”, medium build with blue eyes, and wearing a black hoodie and light colored sweat pants. He then exited the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. An extensive area search was conducted by members of the Warwick Police Department.

STOLEN PHONE
On May 22 around 3:40 p.m., Officer Walter Larson was dispatched to Knight Street for a report of a larceny. There he met with the complainant, who stated that around noon she had lunch at the Rocky Point Clam Shack on Post Road, and had put her phone down to deliver food to her car. When she returned, the phone was gone.
An app was used to try to track the phone, described as a Boost Mobile ZTE Wrap Elite, which showed that the phone was located in Apponaug and indicated it was moving. An attempt to call the phone was made but did not elicit a response. A report was taken and forwarded to detectives for review.
STOLEN MOPED
Officer Kevin McGuire was dispatched to a West Shore Road residence on May 22 at approximately 5 p.m. for a report of a stolen moped.
At the scene the reporting party stated that on May 20, he left his home to go to a birthday party. When he returned the next day around 1 p.m., he found that his moped had been stolen from his yard. Purchased over a year ago, the man stated that the moped had not been used during that time, and estimated its value to be approximately $1,000.
A report was taken, and there are currently no suspects or witnesses.
FRAUD
Around 4:47 p.m. on May 22, Officer Quentin Tavares was dispatched to the Kohl’s on Bald Hill Road for a fraud report. Prior to his arrival on scene, the officer was advised that man was given a fake $20 bill and that he was waiting in his vehicle in the parking lot.
When he arrived on scene, the officer was told that the man had gone shopping with his wife at Kohl’s and upon returning to his vehicle a dark colored Jeep pulled up beside him. The male driver then asked the couple if they had change for a $20. The couple was only able to find $18, and the man accepted the money and gave them the $20. After the driver of the Jeep left the couple realized the bill was a fake. The bill was seized as evidence and the victims stated that they wished to press charges if a suspect was found.
VANDALISM
On May 30 around 7:54 a.m., Officer Osvaldo Monteiro responded to the John Brown Francis Elementary School regarding damage to a park bench that occurred sometime over the long weekend. At the school he met with the custodian, who discovered that one of the school’s green hard plastic park benches was burned and melted. At this time there are no suspects or witnesses.
STOLEN WALLET
Officer Lima responded to McKinley’s Bar on Division Street on May 28 at about 9:40 p.m. for a report of a stolen wallet. Upon arrival he met with the victim, who stated that moments ago he had put his wallet down and forgotten about it. When he returned to obtain it, it was gone. The billfold contained the man’s military ID, debit card, driver’s license, and social security card. Video surveillance footage was unable to be viewed at the time of the report, and there are no suspects.
SHOPLIFTING
On May 27 at approximately 5:44 p.m., Officer Eric Lima responded to the Quaker Lane Stop & Shop and met with the store’s loss prevention team for a shoplifting report.
There he was provided with a written statement advising that on May 27 a male subject was observed with a carriage selecting groceries from the meat, dairy, produce and frozen food sections. He then proceeded to the pharmacy section of the store where he passed all points of sale without paying before exiting the store through the pharmacy entrance.
Outside the store the man was confronted by security. At that time, he ran from the carriage and left the area. The groceries, which totaled $402.09, were recovered. The store stated that they did not wish to file a complaint at this time but wanted the incident documented.
