On March 21 at approximately 11:57 p.m., Officers Adam Arico and John Zaborski were dispatched to the Post Road Walt’s Roast beef for a reported burglar alarm.

After arriving on scene the officer began an exterior check of the building. He then observed several marks on the glass portion of the sliding window of the drive through in what appeared to be an attempt to break the window.

Several additional officers then arrived on scene for assistance and the officers then entered the building. A closer inspection of the cash drawers found that they contained an unknown amount of rolled and loose change.

Officers then confirmed that the building was empty and clear, and Detective Mullin responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. A manager for the restaurant arrived on scene and was advised of the circumstances. He told officers that only change remains in the cash drawers when the restaurant closes, and that there may have been a few hundred dollars in change in the store.
