DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

On Aug. 26 at approximately 5:45 a.m. multiple officers responded to the report of a possible DUI in progress in the area of Sunoco on Post Rd. It was reported that a highly intoxicated man went into the station before driving off towards the highway in his white BMW.

Officer Ali Jaafar got onto Rte. 95 North and found the white BMW with the same license plate as described driving erratically and faster than the speed limit.

He pulled the car over on the highway and identified the driver as Jason Graham, 29, of 256 Centre St. in Jamaica Plain, Mass. He and his female passenger had both just lit cigarettes in the car as the officer walked up to it. Graham’s eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred, and when asked if he drank anything that night he kept saying “I’ll be honest with you,” but never said how much he had to drink.

Graham consented to a series of field sobriety tests, two of which indicated impairment and one that he refused to participate in.

Graham was placed in handcuffs without incident and brought to police headquarters.

Upon checking his record, it was found that Graham had an extensive criminal record with multiple Possession with Intent charges and a recent Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Commit Murder.

Graham also had a GPS bracelet around his ankle at the time.

Graham refused to submit to a B.A.C. test. Graham was charged with Driving Under the Influence – 1st Offense, Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test – 1st Offense, and Laned Roadway Violations. He was held as a probation and bail violator.
