PORTSMOUTH — A local man was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic vandalism after he allegedly threw things around his home following an argument.

According to police, a 43-year-old local woman complained that Michael E. Bettencourt Jr., 45, of 451 Park Ave., had been drinking that day, so she took his car keys to prevent him from driving.

An angry Mr. Bettencourt then threw around and destroyed some items in the kitchen and living room area, she told police.

Mr. Bettencourt was also cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
