Warren police seized a large amount of weaponry and ammunition after getting a call about a man firing weapons last Thursday, June 15.

Keith A. Raposa, 31, was charged with firing in the compact area of town after police investigated the report. Deputy Warren Police Chief Joseph Loiselle said Mr. Raposa had been firing rounds into the air.

“There was no intent to hurt anyone,” he said.

When police searched Mr. Raposa’s home they found and seized “quite the arsenal,” Deputy Chief Loiselle said.

Among the items seized were a “significant” amount of firearms, including semi-automatic weapons. Also seized was an indeterminate amount of ammunition, he said.

Though Deputy Chief Loiselle said Mr. Raposa appeared to be properly licensed to possess the weapons, police seized them as part of the investigation. If it is determined that he was indeed legally allowed to possess them, Deputy Chief Loiselle said they could be returned with a court order.
