School supply drive gets kids started on the right foot

Johnston Sun Rise ·

Because of the efforts of the staff at Cherry Hill Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Battalion Chief Richard Boehm and members of the Johnston Fire Department, and other local donations from residents, dozens of students will have the supplies they need for the start of school this year. Cherry Hill Manor recently organized a school supply drive for students in need in the Johnston community. They accepted donations of backpacks, clothing items, pens, pencils, crayons, binders, notebooks, and much more at their facility. Dina Needham, a teacher at Windsor Hill School, accepted the donations that will be distributed to students throughout the district. All told, over $600 worth of school supplies and clothing was donated during the drive. (Submitted photos)
