For the second time in the past two weeks, a coyote-vs-dog incident occurred at the former Zion Bible College property.

At about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, a Barrington resident contacted police after his dog was bitten by a coyote. The resident was reportedly walking his four-year-old Boxer "Lola" off-leash on the Zion property when the dog spotted and then began chasing a coyote.

Rabid cat spent most of its time in Rehoboth.

The resident tried to call off the dog, but was unable to do so before the coyote turned and bit the Boxer. The dog was up to date on her vaccinations. The dog was placed on a quarantine.

A similar incident occurred on March 13 — a resident was walking a dog off-leash when a coyote attacked the dog, biting and injuring its legs. The coyote later ran off into the woods.

The former Zion Bible College property is almost entirely vacant — a caretaker lives in a house near the intersection of Primrose Hill Road and Middle Highway. The rest of the 39.4 acres is covered with empty buildings and woods.
