Sophomore Semi an event to remember

Johnston Sun Rise ·

On Friday, April 28, the Class of 2019 at Johnston High hosted their annual Sophomore Semi-Formal. It was held at the Crystal Lake Country Club. The theme of the night was Midnight In the Garden, a kind of majestic rustic theme.

The night started with pictures taken outside, with the beautiful lake as a background that turned better when the sun started to set. As the night went on, we were served a choice of prime rib or chicken alfredo pasta. Students quickly started dancing once the DJ turned the music on.

In the middle of the night, an ice cream bar opened up with many different toppings and choices to have. Then came the moment we were all waiting for, the announcement of king and queen.

First, all the names were said in random order, including the court and king and queen. Then our principal, Mr. Morrell announced the winner. The court for the girls included Breana Podmaska, Samantha Febus, Malorie Magnone, Mia Femino, and our queen for the night was Gabriella DiRaimo.

The court for the boys included Lucas Patrone, Manny Lourenco, David Pingitore, Evan Laplante, and king for the night was Matthew Sabitoni. We would like to thank all of the chaperones who attended the dance and special thanks to our advisor, Mrs. Guilmette, who spent countless hours helping us prepare for this amazing event.
