Speak-Out: School schedule whiners, cemetery vandalism

EastBayRI.com ·

I have been reading about teachers, parents, children WHO ARE COMPLAINING about the February and April vacations, more concerned about how are they going to go on vacation; they can’t go on vacation. Since when did school become a daycare center? Parents have got to send their children to school. They’re not there to babysit; they’re there to help the kids learn. So let’s get on with it.

I’m calling because I completely agree with the person who called to address ISSUES WITH ST. MARY’S CEMETERY. My family has had items removed and broken, and covered with grass clippings for many years now. We tried planting flowers every summer, but the always get mowed down. I see other graves that always remain intact and undamaged and I often wonder why. I feel like we’re being targeted for some reason. So it helps to see we are not the only ones dealing with these issues. I definitely want to know what’s going to be done to stop the vandalism. It’s so heart-breaking and a filthy shame.

I’d like to make a comment about our town administrator. I think he did a good job trying to KEEP THE TAXES DOWN as much as he possibly could for the benefit of the seniors and residents of Bristol. Good job!

This is Michelle Martins, and I’m calling to respond to the buzz-kill who called in last week and said that I should be ashamed of myself. I wanted to let them know I am not ashamed of myself and I am PROUD OF THE WORK I TAKE PART IN, and will continue to work hard within the community that I love. If they think they have something that can help our event, please contact me at bubeebuzzing3@gmail.com. Thank you.
