Sprague Mansion set to host Charlie The Butler Ghost Party

The Cranston Herald ·

On Oct. 21, the Cranston Historical Society will again host its Charlie The Butler Ghost Party at 7 p.m.

The cost is $15 per person, with proceeds to benefit the society. The event will be held at the Sprague Mansion in Cranston.

The history of Charlie goes back to the 1880s. As the story goes, Charlie was the butler at the Sprague Mansion, and wanted his oldest daughter to marry the son of the mansion’s owner. The marriage never happened, and it is thought that Charlie is still roaming the mansion – along with other spirits.

The Ghost Party will include the mansion’s haunted history, along with tours of the building.

Guests will include mentalist Rory Raven, and Adam Florio and his Ghoulish Pals. Visiting readers Ms. Michelle and Ms. Debb will provide personal readings on the third floor for a separate fee. A raffle will also be held that evening, and there will be refreshments.

Sprague Mansion is located at 1351 Cranston St. For more information, contact 401-944-9226.
