St. Gregory Church to host series on Muslim immigrants and refugees

St. Gregory the Great will host a four-part series in October highlighting the personal stories of local Muslim immigrants and refugees. The series, "Rhode Island Muslim Immigrants and Refugees: Their Personal Stories" is an opportunity for the community to learn about the personal journeys and integration of immigrants into American society.

The series runs each Tuesday in October (Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24) from 7 to 8:15 p.m. in the St. Gregory church hall. This is an opportunity to hear the stories and gain a deeper understanding into the lives of our Muslim neighbors and learn more about this timely issue. Each speaker brings their own experiences and a wealth of knowledge about immigrants and refugee issues. Speakers include:

"Leaving a Dent." Dr. Ehsun Mirza, a Pakistani immigrant.

"Immigration and Deportation." Rev. Don Anderson, Rev. Janet Cooper-Nelson and Professor Adrian Wood.

"Refugees and Resilience." Omar Bah, a West African refugee.

"Islam and Its Place in America." Mufti Ikram Ul Haq.
