Staff being hired for new concept in nursing home care

The construction of THE GREEN HOUSE® Homes in East Greenwich, a new concept in nursing home care, is moving along well. Staff is now being hired and applications for residency being accepted.

Career Fairs will be held for Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants at Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich on October 13th, from 1 to 6 p.m.; October 14th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and October 24th from 1 to 6 p.m. Saint Elizabeth Home will be hiring 60-70 caregivers to staff a new concept in nursing home care expected to open in early 2017.

The GREEN HOUSE® Homes at Saint Elizabeth Home are four homes, each with 12 private bedrooms and private bathrooms, situated around shared central living space. These homes are for individuals in need of nursing home care and are located on a newly built cul de sac next to Saint Elizabeth Home. Saint Elizabeth Home partnered with THE GREEN HOUSE PROJECT to introduce this model of care in Rhode Island.

Three of the four homes will be for long term care residents and one of the homes will be for short term rehab patients.

“The construction of the GREEN HOUSE Homes at Saint Elizabeth Home is going well, and we anticipate opening in early 2017,” said Steven J. Horowitz, President & CEO, Saint Elizabeth Community.

“So we are hiring and will begin training new hires about a month or so before we open,” continues Horowitz,” We will be introducing a new concept in the provision of nursing home care with cross trained certified nursing assistants.
