NO TRICKS: Brother and sister Lennox and Ava Lucas explored the cab of a fire truck in their Halloween attire as their grandmother, Leslie Derrig, kept a watchful eye.
NO FEAR OF HEIGHTS: Corey Figueiredo, age 6, with an assist from Marcelo Loyo, was ready to explore the ladder truck at a moment’s notice. He got as far as the ladder before Loyo suggested they return to terra firma.
Republican candidate for House District 21 Mike Penta, Ward 3 candidate Timothy Howe, School Committee candidate Dean Johnson, Mayor Scott Avedisian and Democratic candidate for House District 21 Camille Vella-Wilkinson stopped in for the open house.
Warwick Fire Chief James McLaughlin continued his initiative of monthly station open houses with an open house at Station 2 on Post Road opposite Walmart on Saturday. The event had a Halloween theme as firefighters handed out goodie bags and some of the visiting kids turned out in their Halloween costumes. And true to life, one of the engines responded to a call during the event. Station open houses are scheduled for the last Saturday of the month. The next one is Nov. 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Station 6, 456 West Shore Rd.
