They're vets at art

Many former Veterans High School students knew exactly what sidewalk creations are all about. They watched the senior class do it at this time of year. But then when Vets closed as a high school and students moved to Pilgrim, it looked like the tradition would be lost. Not so fast. When teacher Joseph Belanger was approached with the idea, he thought the activity that requires creativity and planning and provides a break before final exams would work. The weather cooperated last Thursday and, as happened at Vets, the students not only came up with some imaginative sidewalk art but also cooked up burgers on the grill and tossed about footballs.
