Two recent Mt. Hope High School graduates have earned All American honors in soccer, out of 49 female student athletes nationwide.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced the honors in late June. Michaela Goglia, who was a forward at Mt. Hope, is headed to Division I Stony Brook University in the fall to study chemical engineering. Her teammate, defenseman Taylor DeMello, will study nursing at Division III Catholic University of America. Both have committed to play NCAA college soccer.

"Mt. Hope Athletics could not be prouder of these two young women,” said Mt. Hope Athletic Director Christy Belisle. “We have worked hard to put our programs on the map as top tier in the classroom and on the field.  Taylor and Michaela are great examples for the students coming in of what you can achieve at a small public school in Rhode Island. If you believe in yourself and are surrounded by great coaches, teachers and staff who care, anything is possible.”
