Warren police logs: Quiet Christmas Day

Monday, Dec. 19

A Market Street woman asked that police remove her boyfriend from her apartment.

A Child Street man complained that his daughter was being harassed at school.

Someone dumped mattress on the side of Waterview Lane. The DPW was advised.

A Patterson Avenue resident reported a past assault.

Edwin F. Azevedo, 35, of Riverside, was charged with writing fraudulent checks under $1,000.

Tuesday, Dec. 20

Stanley J. Waleryszak, 54, of Cranston, was arrested on a Warren warrant for making crank or obscene telephone calls.

Two juveniles, age 12 and 15, were arrested after police got a report of property damage on Child Street. The 12-year-old was charged with larceny under $1,500; the 15-year-old with vandalism/malicious injury to property.

A Davis Street woman told police that someone broke into her apartment.

A man brought in a wallet he’d found.

A drive-through worker at a Metacom Avenue restaurant reported a possible drunk driver at the drive-through.

Wednesday, Dec. 21

A Harris Avenue resident complained about a mattress that had been dumped and was sitting on the side of the road for about a week.

A Child Street resident complained about a woman yelling; the woman told police she was having a loud telephone conversation.

A Benefit Street woman reported that her partner opened up credit card accounts and maxed them out without any intention of paying the bills.

Thursday, Dec. 22

A Water Street woman reported being harassed by her ex-boyfriend.

A Main Street man reported being harassed by a neighbor.

A Franklin Street woman asked to speak to an officer about an expected package that did not arrive in the mail. She was referred to the Warren Postmaster.

Police got a call about a panhandler at Water and Bowen streets.

Friday, Dec. 23

A Homestead Avenue woman reported being harassed by her ex-husband.

Police got a call about a possible drunk driver on Main Street. They pulled over the car and determined the driver was not intoxicated.

A Realtor reported receiving harassing phone calls from a former homeowner.

Someone was reported driving an off-road vehicle on Franklin Street.

Saturday, Dec. 24

A Beach Street man reported that someone cut the wires on his home security camera.

A caller reported a car that ran a red light and was driving left of center on Metacom Avenue.

A caller from Kickemuit Road called police with fears that someone was in his basement. Nothing came of it.

Sunday, Dec. 25

A panhandler call came in from Child Street.

A loud music complaint came in from Long Lane.

Monday, Dec. 26

A caller from Hugh Cole Road was concerned that duck hunters were too close too homes in the area. Police found no violations.
