Gas prices in Rhode Island rose by 1 cent this week, averaging $2.24 a gallon across the state, according to AAA Northeast.
The $2.24 price is four cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.28. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 48 cents lower at $1.76.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 28 cents, from a low of $2.13 to a high of $2.41, the motor club announced. Mid-grade gas averaged $2.52 ($2.35-$2.69); premium averaged $2.70 ($2.29-$2.89); diesel averaged $2.53 ($2.39-$2.64).
