Cleaning up Cranston

The Cranston Herald ·

Cranstonians celebrated Earth Day over the weekend by participating in a number of cleanups across the community.

On Saturday morning, City Council President Chris Paplauskas and a group of volunteers met in the Cranston West parking lot to clean up Meshanticut Park.

Shortly thereafter, another group organized through Ward 2 Councilwoman Aniece Germain, citywide Councilman Robert Ferri and Ward 2 School Committee member Kristen Haroian gathered for a cleanup at Doric Park.

Volunteers picked up trash, swept and raked at these local recreational destinations.

On May 22, Ward 3 Councilman John Donegan, citywide Councilwoman Jessica Marino and Ferri will host a Ward 3 community cleanup, starting at 10 a.m. at the Hugh B. Bain Middle School track. For more information, find the event page on Facebook (Ward 3 Community Clean Up) or email johndoneganforcranston@gmail.com.
