He was a true outdoorsman and skilled taxidermist who loved hunting and fishing. Rodney reveled in the simplicity of life on Prudence Island, where he was known as the island's plumber, and was a longtime member of Local 51 of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry. He enjoyed building, working around his home, and listening to country music. Rodney loved animals of most every kind, and had a special place in his heart for his faithful dog, Sasha, and his late dog, Baby Bear.

In addition to his father, Rodney is survived by his former wife, O'Kay J. (Desrosiers) Santos of Tiverton; his companion, Lori P. Cubellis of Prudence Island and her daughter, Vanessa A. Cubellis of Providence and her late son, Shannon B. Cubellis, and his children, Jason S. Santos and his wife, Melissa "Mel" Santos, of Tiverton, and his mother, Julie Drolet of Bristol; Chrystal M. Santos of Seekonk; Brandon S. Santos of Seekonk; and Kaytlyn E. Santos of Tiverton. He was the grandfather of Zachary Santos of Tiverton. Rodney leaves his brother, Paul D. Santos and his wife, Diane Babbitt-Santos, and their children, Athena Faith Santos and Avalon Grace Santos, all of Bristol. He was the maternal grandson of the late Waldo N. and Margaret (Travers) Lake, and the paternal grandson of the late Able and Hazel (Morris) Santos. Rodney leaves his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends.
