Tiny group continues Bristol polar plunge tradition

EastBayRI.com ·

There was a polar plunge in Bristol, of sorts, on New Year's Day.

After East Bay Icebreakers organizer Scott Magilton of Bristol showed up at Bristol Town Beach as the sole representative of his group, surveyed the ice and subzero windchill, and elected not to plunge into Narraganseet Bay (but to pause long enough to strip down to an American flag speedo and wave the flag atop a lifeguard chair), another small group from Providence showed up.

This hearty group (four of them) elected to hit the water running and continue a 13-year tradition of doing the polar plunge in Bristol. Enjoy the photos from a brutally cold morning near Colt State Park.
