Warren police logs: Suspicious clown shows up in backyard

Tuesday, Oct. 11

Police were called out to Metacom Avenue for a neighbors’ dispute.

A caller from Davis Street reported a possible breaking and entering in a neighbor’s home.

A Water Street man told police that a window screen had been cut, and a safe was missing from his home.

A Long Wharf Drive resident complained that a neighbor tampered with his mailbox.

Kids were reportedly vandalizing a fence along the Kickemuit River.

Wednesday, Oct. 12

Police dispersed an unwanted customer from a Metacom Avenue business.

Bill T. Waleryszak, 27, of Bristol, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant after police found him sleeping in his car off Metacom Avenue.

Thursday, Oct. 13

Someone stole cash from a Child Street resident, a caller complained.

A caller complained that his mother, a Metacom Avenue resident, might be under the influence.

Alexander G. Rebello, 30, of Bristol, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant after a car stop on Serpentine Road.

A Child Street woman reported losing her wallet.

A caller complained that a person was continuously driving around Water Street, yelling racial slurs out the window.

Police were called to arguments on Market Street and Davis Street. A similar call on Main Street turned out to be a man disciplining his children.

Friday, Oct. 14

The clerk at a store on Market Street called police to report that a customer who’d just left appeared disoriented. Police caught up with the person and reported no problem.

An Arlington Avenue woman reported the theft of her purse.

A Luther Street man called police after his son refused to come home. The boy returned just under a half hour later.

Saturday, Oct. 15

A woman called to report striking and killing a rabbit on Schoolhouse Road.

A Bay Road woman reported that a person might have been outside her home while she was sleeping.

Two cats were abandoned when their owners moved out of their Martin Street apartment.

A Reservoir Avenue woman told police that someone left a threatening voicemail on her son’s phone.

A Dyer Street woman told police that her dog attacked a groundhog.

A caller from Seymour Street told police that her son’s girlfriend, who left drunk, had returned and was yelling at her and her son.

Sunday, Oct. 16

A caller told police at 6:22 a.m. that a person dressed up as a clown was in her backyard.

Edmund C. Larue, 61, of 53 Seymour St., was charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test (second violation within five years) following an accident at Metacom Avenue and Overhill Road.

Scott M. Mullin, 35, of 539 Child St., Apt. 2, was charged with domestic vandalism/malicioius injury to property, domestic disorderly conduct, and on Superior Court and Family Court warrants, after his fiancé complained that she and he were having an argument when he started breaking things.

Police received multiple calls about a woman cleaning out her car on the side of Child Street. Apparently, she left trash on the roadside.

Monday, Oct. 17

Police were called about an unruly juvenile on Middle Street.

Police were called to Child Street for a custody issue.
